Street Photo Of the Week #6

This week’s top pick on the theme “Hands” was by young photographer Andrew Nasrallah – a promising talent that is going places with his photography in the future. His sharp attention to details and composition are clearly evidenced in this week’s featured photo:

A pensive moment is further intensified by the burning cigarette – that also appears to be lit by the car coming forward. For those few minutes, you are the photographer taking that small break, clearing his head and looking out onto the horizon of painted trees.

Like any photograph of course, this photo can be interpreted in many ways, but for me personally, it portrays modern man’s struggle in an urban jungle.. in this case, one of the craziest urban jungles in Lebanon, Achrafieh. Do you see it that way too, or am I reading too much into it? How do you interpret this photo? Please share your comments below..
