Where else would you see people of all ages come towards you, finger pointed at themselves screaming: “Click me! Click me!”? Where else would you see children running towards you, jumping all over the place waiving hello and posing for you? Where else would you see locals pointing their mobile phones at you to take a picture of you while walking on the street?
I haven’t seen any so far besides New Delhi, India. A place full of contradictions, unlike any place I’ve been so far. Photography heaven? Yes and No! You can make photographs of anything you want unless a clear sign says otherwise. Yet, sometimes, the most beautiful places to photograph do not allow it and others make you pay extra to get the camera in.
Spending the day sightseeing under a sun of 42C was quite a challenge. If you ever decide to go, keep an eye on the local weather forecasts, dress and be equipped accordingly to avoid unpleasant surprises. I would also recommend traveling in groups of minimum 2 persons and research habits and customs.
India will show you life under a new light. Perception is different and it will make you doubt every fundamental assumption you had… Are you ready?
