A Souvenir from Nepal’s Streets: Rachel Partamian

Text by Rachel Partamian

Street photography was a new experience for me.

This BSP trip was an advantage for every photographer who wanted to learn more about street photography in the hectic streets of Nepal. Not to forget the BSP group members who were very friendly and helpful.

We gathered every day to discuss our photographs, give advice and critiques on each others’ photographs to get a better perspective and better image quality.

The photograph was taken in Patan square in Kathmandu.

It was a lucky and special shot. It captures a magical moment where the vibrant colors in dark areas, the light on the cotton candy and the rainbow in combination give you the feeling that the person was pulled into the frame.

Rachel is one of the 17 photographers who went on BSP’s Nepal photo-trip in August 2012. This capture is only one among the many unique and stunning street photographs taken during that trip that will be showcased in our upcoming exhibition on June 11th and 12th at the UNESCO Palace.
